In order to deliver enhanced digital experiences to employees, customers, and partners, enterprises need an API-first approach, effective and API-led integration of systems and applications, and comprehensive identity and access management for all users. Without these three working in unison, delivering innovative and high-quality digital services is unlikely.
This report extracts valuable insights from a survey of 300 IT decision-makers and dives into understanding the challenges organizations face when finding a platform that enables them to deliver across cloud-based, on-premises, or hybrid deployments.
87% agree that the ability to use an open-source platform for building, managing, and integrating APIs would significantly benefit the developers/architects at their organization.
74% of respondents’ organizations do not have a fully rolled out API strategy.
88% suggest that the technology they currently use to build, manage, and integrate APIs needs a complete overhaul or has major or moderate room for improvement.
10% only opt for on-premises wherever possible when deploying their IT infrastructure and only 3% are cloud wherever possible. Looking ahead three years, only 5% expect to be on-premises and 15% suggest they will deploy on cloud.
80% are using or planning to use a single platform for both employees, partners, and suppliers as well as for their customers.
It is therefore unsurprising that 95% indicate that they are experiencing challenges with their CIAM platform.
