KuppingerCole CIAM Leadership Compass Names WSO2 an Overall Leader in the Third Consecutive Report

In the KuppingerCole Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Leadership Compass 2024, Lead Analyst John Tolbert states, “Organizations across most all industries can improve their customer experiences and security with well-implemented CIAM platforms. Moreover, CIAM is useful to the deploying organizations regardless of their longevity, from startups to long-established institutions”

To help enterprises evaluate their own strategies and technology decisions, we are making a reprint of the Leadership Compass report, which was published by KuppingerCole Analysts on June 3, 2024 available here. The report examines the main reasons organizations acquire CIAM solutions. It then evaluates 21 vendors in the CIAM market. This analysis led KuppingerCole to name WSO2 an overall leader, innovation leader, product leader, and market leader - every leadership category covered in the report.

Evaluating WSO2’s CIAM Capabilities

In its evaluation, the analysis awarded WSO2 the highest ranking in four technical areas: security, deployment, interoperability, and usability.

Additionally, WSO2’s leadership in three categories: product, innovation, and market resulted in the company being named an overall leader in the report. Product leaders are vendors with the highest level of functional capabilities for their solutions. Innovation leaders adopt a customer-centric approach to deliver features customers demand and other cutting-edge features, while ensuring older versions of their technology are compatible. Market leaders are vendors with significant global reach, possess sizable deployments and services, include partners of various sizes across the world, and are in strong financial health.

Tolbert gave special mention of WSO2’s strengths in B2B CIAM use cases. WSO2 “enables compliance checking and sanctions screening capabilities, custom deny lists, per-customer communications, delegated administration for complex hierarchical relationships, custom attributes and entitlements, time-limited accounts, and per-customer management portals.”
