New WSO2 White Paper for IT Architects Examines the Seven Steps to Achieving a Connected Business

White paper by WSO2’s VP of solutions architecture discusses the best practices and technologies for integrating people and processes via a connected business

Mountain View, CA – July 15, 2014 – Enterprises today need to step away from traditional ways of engaging with customers and suppliers and instead apply new approaches to integrating processes and information that ensure a richer user experience. A new white paper from WSO2 discusses how an enterprise can improve customer and partner relationships—and become more agile and seize new revenue opportunities in the process—by building a connected business.

Connecting all the Components of a Business

The white paper, “Convert Your Enterprise to a Connected Business,” was written by WSO2 Vice President of Solutions Architecture Asanka Abeysinghe. It begins by defining a connected business where an enterprise increases its value proposition by focusing on its areas of expertise and leveraging external services in order to make the user’s experience more productive. The paper then discusses critical challenges enterprises face in enabling a connected business, such as complex business requirements and quicker release cycles.

Next, the paper explains how to transform an organization into a connected business with a seven-step approach, which starts off by converting business functions to services and then turning those into APIs. The paper also explores how to connect all the components of a business using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) as a connectivity layer in the system, along with other WSO2 products. Additionally, it provides real-life examples of how enterprises are deploying WSO2 ESB, WSO2 Identity Server, and WSO2 Business Activity Monitor to enable a connected business.

The paper goes on to explain how the WSO2 cloud stack can be used to create and deploy applications in a cloud-native environment. It then concludes by discussing the changes required to become a connected business.
