WSO2 VP of Platform Evangelism Will Present Tutorial on Building a Standardized Application Stack Environment at SUSECon 2014

Technical tutorial will examine how to build and deploy portable application services using SUSE Studio, WSO2 open source middleware, and Amazon EC2

Mountain View, CA – November 12, 2014 – WSO2 today announced that WSO2 Vice President of Platform Evangelism Chris Haddad will present a technical tutorial session at SUSECon 2014 that explores best practices for rapidly building a standardized application stack environment. WSO2 is a Silver Sponsor of SUSECon 2014, which will run November 17-21, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.

Building a PaaS Tutorial

The conference technical tutorial will begin by discussing how organizations can strengthen cloud programs by delivering platform as a service (PaaS) to application teams. It then will examine how developers can assemble, build and deploy portable application services instead of platform silos using SUSE Studio, WSO2 open source middleware, and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Additionally, the session will demonstrate how to rapidly build standardized application stack environments and offer a policy compliant PaaS to application project teams.

The tutorial, “Build Platform as a Service (PaaS) with SUSE Studio, WSO2 Middleware, and EC2,” will be held 3:15–4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Room Magnolia C at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.

Integrated Open Source Approach to the Connected Business

The WSO2 booth at SUSECon 2014 will have experts available to discuss the synergistic, integrated approach of WSO2’s 100% open source platforms in addressing the technology demands of competing in a connected world, including the cloud, API management, big data analytics, the management and security of mobile and Internet of Things devices, and DevOps, to name a few. Among the WSO2 solutions are products from the comprehensive WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform, WSO2 Enterprise Mobility Manager, WSO2 Private PaaS, the WSO2 App Factory cloud-enabled DevOps platform, and WSO2 Public Cloud platforms.

Significantly, all WSO2 solutions are built on the same fully componentized, OSGI-compliant code base. As a result, developers can easily deploy and customize any of these WSO2 products and the 175-plus components on which they are comprised, providing greater flexibility and agility to meet changing enterprise demands. In addition to WSO2 cloud platforms, all WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware products also are fully multitenant and cloud-ready. This means IT professionals can write an application once and deploy it on the same middleware on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid environment.
