Indian Railways — which is a statutory body under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Railways — operates India's national railway system, transporting millions daily. As the largest rail network in Asia, and the fourth largest in the world, it aspires to create a more efficient logistics ecosystem for its passenger and freight services.
With the advent of e-commerce in India, logistics has become extremely important. Indian Railways plays a key role in the country’s logistics ecosystem. Today, APIs power the effective interchange of information among logistics partners. Within this context, the development of Indian Railways’ enterprise architecture, which is named Vistar, has become imperative.
