Introduction
WSO2Con 2025 has officially wrapped up, and what an event it was! Hosted in the vibrant city of Barcelona from March 18–20, the conference brought together over 500 attendees from 45 different countries. Among them were CXOs, IT executives, architects, and enterprise developers, all eager to explore the latest advancements shaping the future of enterprise technology.
If you weren’t able to attend or just want a refresher of the highlights, here’s a curated recap of the biggest announcements that defined this year’s WSO2Con.
AI at the core of the WSO2 ecosystem
Artificial Intelligence (AI) took center stage at WSO2Con 2025, making its way into every corner of the WSO2 product portfolio. AI is now embedded as a native capability across the entire WSO2 software stack, enabling enterprises to easily create (code), integrate, manage, and secure intelligent digital products with ease.
WSO2's Chief AI Officer, Rania Khalaf, unveiled our approach to the AI revolution: 'Code for AI, AI for Code.' This dual pronged strategy transforms software development by infusing AI throughout the entire software development lifecycle. 'AI for Code' empowers developers with intelligent tools that accelerate and enhance coding efficiency, while 'Code for AI' enables organizations to seamlessly integrate AI capabilities into their products and services. Complementing this approach is our pioneering concept of natural programming, which blends natural language with programming language to fundamentally redefine the developer experience.

WSO2 Identity Server 7.1 now available
Another exciting highlight from WSO2Con was the launch of WSO2 Identity Server 7.1, the latest version of our industry-leading identity and access management (IAM) solution. Whether you’re leveraging AI-powered automation, customizing with our API-driven architecture, or enhancing your B2B CIAM capabilities, this release is designed to help you achieve faster and more secure identity management. The latest updates are available across all of WSO2’s IAM offerings, including Asgardeo, our multi-tenant SaaS platform, and WSO2 Private Identity Cloud, our single-tenant SaaS solution. Thanks to their shared codebase, enterprises gain the same benefits no matter how they choose to deploy these solutions.
Details about these updates are available in the latest release blog.
New AI-powered capabilities in Asgardeo
Asgardeo is introducing advanced AI-powered capabilities to enhance access control for AI agents and boost developer productivity. Notable features include treating AI agents as distinct entities with unique identities to ensure precise access control, role-based permissions, and adaptive management based on context, along with full auditing to monitor agent activity. Additionally, developers can now leverage AI to streamline tasks like building registration flows, login flows, and applying consistent branding with minimal effort. Most features are available immediately, while AI agent access control will launch in June 2025, and research is ongoing for AI-powered adaptive authentication. With these updates, businesses can secure AI agents as effectively as human users, ensuring both compliance and security in an increasingly AI-driven ecosystem.
