Platformless for the People
Join Martin Jones as he shares the journey of migrating the University of Edinburgh’s integration platform to Choreo. This session will explore how engaging developers, support staff, business owners, and end users helped navigate the complexities of coordinating a large-scale migration in an organization of over 60,000 people, while also moving major on-premise systems to the cloud. Martin will highlight the importance of a people-first approach, which guided the team to implement a simple, easy-to-follow framework for the future.
Speakers
Martin joined the University of Edinburgh in 2008 as a software developer/analyst and has worked on all core IT systems such as HR, Payroll, Finance, Estates and Timetabling. When the University took the decision to move to an API first strategy, he took a senior role to help deliver that vision. That experience then led to him joining the Enterprise Architecture Team as their Integration Architect and in 2024 Martin was shortlisted for Colleague of the Year. Outside of work he enjoys wine, cooking, swimming and playing in an Orchestra.
