Extended Life Support Plan
WSO2 products are subject to deprecation and the cessation of support services according to our Support Services Policy section 8 (Lifespan and Deprecation.) Customers are encouraged to heed EOL announcement notices and upgrade to a more recent release prior to cessation of support services.
However, in some circumstances subscribers have found that upgrades are not feasible within this time window. WSO2 may, at customer request, offer the Extended Life Support Plan for a version that has reached the EOL date. During the Extended Life Support period, WSO2 maintains active support for, and only for, customers who have engaged Extended Life Support.
Extended Life Support (ELS) customers must have a valid Enterprise Support Plan in effect - ELS may not be combined with Basic Support. During the ELS period, all Enterprise Support SLAs and benefits remain in effect, but in order to maximize stability of the system update we will only provide updates that are necessary to address security vulnerabilities, or to resolve bugs that have actually been reported, encountered, or requested by the Subscriber. To minimize opportunities for instability, general bug fixes are backported only upon customer request. The availability of Extended Life Support for a particular version may be discontinued at WSO2’s option with a one year notice.
Maintaining the systems and expertise to provide support for deprecated versions incurs significant costs to WSO2 that cannot be spread across a broad customer base, and we therefore charge extra fees to the customers opting into this service.
Extended Life Support is priced as a percentage surcharge of Subscription fees of the ELS product, with the first year surcharge is 25%. This surcharge increases by 10% each additional year on extended support (e.g. second year carries a 35% surcharge, third year carries a 45% surcharge, and so on.) Fees apply on the date Extended Life Support commences, and are prorated to align with subscription renewal dates.
Upon successfully upgrading to a supported version, the customer should notify WSO2 of the migration and request a switch from the Extended Life Support plan to a regular support plan. WSO2 will provide a credit for the prorated period of unused Extended Life Support, as well as prorate any fees that may be due for the newly selected support plan. Any remaining credits are applied to future payments.
This Extended Life Support Plan can be updated or modified at any time by WSO2.
