Getting started with registration

To ensure a smooth registration, always use the same email address associated with your existing WSO2 or certification account. Do not register using multiple email accounts. After registering, please allow at least two business days for your exam to be activated. You will receive an activation email with the necessary details. During this waiting period, avoid re-registering for the same exam. Once activated, your exam will be valid for 30 days, and you must complete it within this time frame.

Preparing for your exam

  • Review the exam instructions sent in your activation email thoroughly before starting. The exam must be taken on your personal device; shared or public computers are not allowed to maintain the security and integrity of the exam.
  • You must set up a screen recording tool (such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams) to simultaneously record your screen and webcam output for the entire exam session. The webcam feed must always be visible within the screen recording and cannot be hidden or minimized.
  • Close all unnecessary programs before the exam. You are only allowed to use a single screen or device throughout the exam, and eye/head movements will be monitored in the recordings to ensure that multiple screens or devices are not used.
  • Soft copies are restricted to your own study notes, provided they are displayed on your screen and fully visible to the examiner throughout the exam. These notes must not include any previous WSO2 examination material, answers, configurations, or materials from previous or other candidates' exam attempts. Hardcopy notes are not allowed. Your device must not contain screen recordings or answer sheets from previous exam attempts by you or any other participant.
  • Exams are partially open-book. You may use WSO2 documentation, the LMS, pages from WSO2.com, and pages linked through these sources during the exam, provided they comply with our guidelines.
  • The use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini), search engines (e.g., Google), or any external resources not explicitly approved is strictly prohibited. You may use a translator tool if required.

During the exam

  • Before starting the exam, you are required to provide a 360° video of your room using your webcam or laptop webcam. The video should clearly show your surroundings to ensure that no unauthorized materials or aids are accessible during the exam.
  • Remain alone in the room for the entire duration of the exam. Collaboration of any kind is not allowed. Do not use mobile devices to browse, call, send messages (except in emergencies), access social media, or interact with unrelated programs until you have submitted your exam.
  • Taking screenshots, printing, or saving any part of the exam material is strictly prohibited, unless explicitly allowed in the exam paper for specific configurations or results. If required, these screenshots must be added to your answer sheet and deleted after the exam.
  • Once you start your exam, you are not allowed to leave your seat until the exam is submitted.
  • You must record your entire exam session, including both screen and webcam. This recording is to ensure you complete your exam according to the WSO2 certification guidelines. The recording is stored by you; WSO2 only requires temporary view access. You are responsible for deleting the recording after review. Ensure no personal, sensitive, or unrelated content is visible on your screen or in your webcam. WSO2 is not responsible for content captured in recordings.

After the exam

  • You must submit your screen and webcam recordings, and the answer sheet if applicable, within 24 hours of completing the exam, regardless of whether you pass or fail. Failure to submit within this timeframe may result in a failing grade or a ban from attempting future WSO2 certifications.
  • Sharing exam materials (e.g., answer sheets or screen recordings) with anyone other than WSO2 is strictly forbidden. For expert-level exams, you may retain your files until grading is complete. For all other exams, delete all exam-related recordings and files from both your device and any cloud storage within seven days of completing the exam.

Certification integrity and candidate support

WSO2 thoroughly reviews exam recordings to ensure fairness and maintain high standards of exam integrity. We reserve the right to modify exam results, impose bans, and notify your organization in cases of suspected cheating, certification forging, suspicious activity, or confirmed violations. Cheating, forging certifications, or sharing exam materials may also result in the loss of benefits, such as promo codes, and can affect others within your organization.

WSO2 will retain expert certification data (including recordings) for up to 90 days or until the respective certification exam has been fully completed and graded. In cases where a candidate is suspected of cheating, WSO2 may retain their data for all certifications, not limited to expert-level exams, until a final verdict is provided. Candidates are required to provide WSO2 with access to recordings from non-expert exams for up to 7 days, and for expert exams until the certification is completed as outlined above.

Feedback from candidates is actively reviewed to improve the certification experience. If you encounter any issues during your exam, report them promptly to the WSO2 certification team, who will ensure a fair review and resolution.

Thank you for following these guidelines and for helping to uphold the standards of WSO2 certifications.
