New WSO2 Technical Guide Explores Patterns and Best Practices for Enterprise Integration with WSO2 ESB

Guide examines how IT professionals can simulate enterprise integration patterns, connecting business applications with heterogeneous systems using the WSO2 ESB

Palo Alto, CA – August 15, 2013 – Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) is key to connecting business applications with heterogeneous systems. Over the years, IT architects and developers have invented a blend of integration patterns for connecting various business applications within enterprise systems. As a result, architectural similarities in these enterprise integration patterns have initiated a set of widely accepted standards. A new guide from WSO2 examines how IT professionals can take advantage of the open source WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) to effectively address enterprise integration standards, enabling interoperability among heterogeneous environments and business applications.

“Enterprise Integration Patterns with WSO2 ESB” was developed by the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus engineering team. The guide examines how each pattern in the Enterprise Integration Patterns Catalog ( can be simulated using various constructs in WSO2 ESB. It also explores best practices for supporting different enterprise integration patterns using WSO2 ESB. Key topics in the guide include patterns for messaging systems, messaging channels, message construction, message routing, message transformation, messaging endpoints, and systems management.
