WSO2 and Guest Presenter AgilePath Will Conduct Case Study on Implementing a Service Registry to Address Enterprise Cloud Challenges

Webinar will examine how AgilePath optimized the connectivity, reliability and supportability of infrastructure for a United States Air Force program using WSO2 Governance Registry

Palo Alto, CA – November 14, 2013 – Technology adoption cycles continue to evolve as virtual machines and cloud-based solutions cut system deployment times down to hours. However the way system components talk to each other and connect has been slower to change, and point-to-point solutions remain pervasive throughout most modern infrastructures. To help address this challenge, WSO2 will host a case study webinar on using a service registry to enhance the supportability and reliability of infrastructure in a key United States Air Force (USAF) program.

The Webinar, “WSO2 and AgilePath - How the WSO2 Governance Registry is being used for a key Air Force Program,” will presented jointly by WSO2 and AgilePath Corporation, the IT professional services firm that implemented the USAF project. The session will be held Wednesday, November 20, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PST. Enhancing Service Registry in the Air Force with WSO2 Governance Registry

The webinar will begin by examining how organizations that once feared the idea of loosely coupled systems connected with Web services are now chasing the curve with a cloud-enabled “as a service” paradigm, bringing a new set of challenges. These include unsanctioned applications, duplication of existing functionality, and the inability to document services in a central location.

The session will discuss how a service registry can serve as a tool to solve “as a service” challenges while improving the supportability and reliability of the infrastructure. It then will review how AgilePath selected WSO2 Governance Registry to provide well documented, easy-to-identify services with the ability to track service consumers. Additionally, it will discuss how AgilePath has extended the core data model to meet the needs of a key Air Force Program.

Session topics will include:

  • An introduction to AgilePath.
  • A discussion of service registry fundamentals.
  • An overview of the registry tool selection process.
  • How WSO2 Governance Registry is being used for a key USAF program.
  • WSO2 Governance Registry product vision and core features.
