WSO2 Presents Manchester Workshop on WSO2 Integration Platform Discovery

Half-day workshop on September 19, features WSO2 and Pasker Limited guest presenter exploring best practices for optimizing enterprise application integration using an ESB model

Palo Alto, CA – September 11, 2013 – Today, enterprise application integration (EAI) best practices are based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and a flexible, highly capable enterprise service bus (ESB). In a half-day interactive workshop for IT architects and developers, WSO2 and Pasker Limited will explore how IT professionals can take advantage of an ESB model to successfully implement a service broker pattern for connectivity, mediation, process orchestration, and security.

The “WSO2 Integration Platform Discovery” workshop will be presented by WSO2 Co-founder and CTO Paul Fremantle and Pasker Limited CEO Damien Mannion. The event will be held on Thursday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at Thistle Manchester City Centre, The Portland in Manchester, UK. The Role of an ESB within an SOA

The workshop is designed for IT architects and developers seeking to obtain a high-level architectural understanding of how ESBs fit within an SOA. It will explore how enterprises can connect, mediate, orchestrate and manage interactions between application integration consumers and providers using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus in conjunction with other components of the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform. Additionally, it will introduce API management as a solution to extend SOA architecture and govern APIs. Workshop session topics will include:

  • An overview of ESB architecture, the role of an ESB within an SOA, and the benefits of loosely coupled application architectures.
  • Understanding core ESB capabilities, including mediation, transformation, routing, messaging, queuing and eventing.
  • Using the data services server to expose any data source as a service, including RDBMS, NoSQL database and spreadsheets.
  • Using the governance registry to govern and manage services.
  • How to leverage API management to enhance APIs delivery inside an enterprise.
