WSO2 VP of Solutions Architecture to Present Los Angeles Workshop on Using WSO2 API Manager

One-day technical workshop will explore how IT professionals can strengthen API implementation and management best practices using WSO2 API Manager

Palo Alto, CA – November 18, 2013 – Many traditional service-oriented architecture (SOA) and integration platforms support specific business requirements, but they provide little support for collaboration, sharing and reuse. As a result, IT teams often experience rapid portfolio proliferation and sprawl rather than enhanced business agility. In a one-day, lecture-style workshop for IT professionals, WSO2 VP of Solutions Architecture Asanka Abeysinghe will explore how to address these challenges and optimize an organization’s API interactions using WSO2 API Manager.

The “Discover the WSO2 API Manager” workshop will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., in Los Angeles. For more information, visit: .

Optimizing API Management

The workshop is designed for IT architects and developers seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the emerging Web API space. Asanka will begin by reviewing WSO2 API Manager’s capabilities for publishing APIs, creating and managing a developer community, and scalably routing API traffic. He then will examine how WSO2 API Manager fits into the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform, enabling organizations to manage and expose APIs both internally and across the Web to partners and mobile apps. Asanka also will discuss how to install, configure, use and manage the WSO2 API Manager product. Additionally, he will explore how to take advantage of advanced features, such as creating service-level agreements (SLAs).

Workshop session topics will include:

  • An overview of APIs and API management
  • How WSO2 Carbon products can be used to implement APIs from existing and legacy systems
  • Introduction to WSO2 API Manager capabilities
  • Installing and configuring WSO2 API Manager
  • How to publish an API, as well as call the API using Java or cURL
