WSO2 Workshop on Using Big Data to Enable Adaptive Business Activities Will be Presented in Seattle and New York

Workshop will explore how IoT devices and information feeds can be used to aggregate big data, create big data streams, and trigger events that optimize workflows and performance

Palo Alto, CA – March 4, 2014 – Increasingly, enterprises are recognizing the need to tap a combination of high-volume, high-velocity and high-variety information assets in order to gain a competitive edge. A new WSO2 workshop addresses this issue by examining how organizations can connect intelligent controllers to various Internet of Things (IoT) devices and connected business information feeds to aggregate big data, create big data streams, and trigger events that optimize workflows and performance.

The half-day hands-on workshop, “Big Data Streams, Small Internet Things, and Enterprise Dream Team,” is being held from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in two locations:

Big Data Connections: Transforming Business Interactions

The solution architecture workshop is designed for IT professionals seeking to evolve their business interactions. Led by WSO2 technology executives, it will demonstrate how enterprises can structurally improve business performance, revenue growth, and customer service by delivering big data streaming solutions with big data repositories, complex event processing, adaptive workflow triggers and dashboards.

The session will begin by exploring how businesses are shifting from static workflows to adaptive business activities triggered by big data streams and events. It then will discuss why organizations are building solutions around business activity stream events and contextual data. The workshop also will review architectural components that deliver complex temporal pattern matching, big data discovery, accessible APIs, and real-time notifications. Additionally, the session will examine proof of concept (POC) demonstrations, real-world use cases and architecture reference diagrams.

After attending the workshop, participants will know how to:

  • Communicate the value gained when turning big data into activity streams, trigger events, deliver contextual data and create an adaptive business environment.
  • Explain the roadmap steps, governance and architectural components that help capture data, analyze streams and expose intelligent recommendations.
  • Define POC project success metrics and infrastructure cost.
  • Build a business activity monitoring (BAM) and complex event processing (CEP) environment, feeding user dashboards and triggering adaptive workflows.
