Highlighting the Winners of WSO2’s Certified Employee of the Year: 2022

We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on the top performers of WSO2’s Certified Employee of the Year contest. This is our second successive year, having first kicked off this initiative in 2021. As such, the contest recognizes and honors the tireless efforts of our employees who were awarded the most certifications during 2022.

THE WINNER - LAKSHITHA GUNASEKARA 

Lakshitha was the overall winner with an impressive 14 certifications. He received 1 Solutions Architect, 2 Expert, 6 Developer, 2 Sales Professional, and 3 Practitioner certifications.

Lakshitha is an Associate Technical Lead in WSO2 API Manager’s developer team. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, specializing in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering. Lakshitha has frequently been regarded among WSO2’s Rockstars, an employee initiative to publish industry-specific content. He was also a WSO2 Outstanding Contributor in 2020.

1ST RUNNER-UP - MANEESHA WIJESEKARA

Maneesha completed an admirable 12 certifications in the past year, receiving 1 Expert, 6 Developer, 2 Sales, and 3 Practitioner certifications. 

Maneesha is an Associate Technical Lead in WSO2’s Customer Success team. He has a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka. In 2014, Maneesha was awarded for his contribution towards social responsibility through social media at the Digital Empowerment Awards for South Asia.

2ND RUNNER-UP - HASITHA PATHIRANA

Hasitha ended 2022 with 9 certifications, consisting of 5 Developer, 1 Sales, and 3 Practitioner certifications. 

Hasitha is a Senior Software Engineer in WSO2’s Customer Success team and has been with the company since 2019. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
