The Winners of the WSO2 Certified Employee of the Year 2025

We are excited to celebrate the exceptional achievements of WSO2’s top performers in our WSO2 Certified Employee of the Year competition. This contest, now in its fifth year, was first introduced in 2021 and continued successfully through 2022, 2023, and 2024. The competition shines a spotlight on our employees' relentless commitment by recognizing those who have earned the highest number of certifications in 2025. 

Read on to discover this year’s outstanding winners. 

The Winner - Samindu Cooray

Samindu claimed the top spot this year, earning an impressive total of 21 certifications! His achievements include 3 expert certifications, 1 solutions architect certification, 7 developer certifications, 4 sales professional certifications, and 6 practitioner certifications. 

Samindu serves as a Software Engineer within WSO2’s Customer Success Team, where he has been making invaluable contributions for nearly one year. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka. 

Outside of work, samindu enjoys gaming, watching movies and tv series, and singing.

1st Runner-Up - Imedya Weerasinghe

Imedya achieved an admirable 17 certifications this year, including 3 expert certifications, 6 developer certifications, 4 sales professional certifications, and 4 practitioner certifications.

Imedya serves as a Senior Software Engineer within WSO2’s Customer Success Team, where she has been making invaluable contributions for nearly six years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India.

Outside of work, Imedya enjoys dancing, listening to music, and watching movies.

2nd Runners-Up - João Kuntz

Joao claimed second runner-up this year, earning a total of 13 certifications in 2025. His achievements include five developer certifications, four sales professional certifications, and four practitioner certifications.

Joao serves as a Lead Sales Engineer at WSO2, where he has been contributing for nearly four months. Before joining WSO2, Joao honed his expertise for about 15 years, holding both software engineering and software architecture positions in global projects that led him to live in countries such as Mexico, Greece, and Israel, in addition to Brazil, his homeland. He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Santa Cecília, where he specialized in computer vision for mechanical process automation, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. He also holds postgraduate diplomas in Software Architecture and Software Quality Engineering, along with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He is the author of a book on blockchain and teaches MBA courses on distributed architectures and smart contract development.

Outside of work, João enjoys traveling and spending time with his pets.

2nd Runners-Up - Sujit Das

Sujit secured the 2nd Runner-Up position, highlighting his strong dedication to continuous learning and professional growth. He has earned a total of 13 WSO2 certifications in 2025, including 7 Developer certifications, 4 Practitioner certifications, and 2 Sales certifications.

He currently works as a Software Engineer at WSO2, where he has been making valuable contributions for the past two years, gaining hands-on experience across WSO2 products and customer-focused solutions. Sujit has a strong passion for solving algorithmic problems and actively participates in competitive coding contests, which helps him continuously sharpen his problem-solving and logical thinking skills.

Sujit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata, India.

Outside of his professional work, he enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations, bringing the same curiosity and enthusiasm to life beyond technology here.
