Nirmal Fernando leads the engineering team of the Solutions Business Unit at WSO2, bringing over 13 years of expertise in enterprise software innovation. With deep technical knowledge of the entire WSO2 product suite, he excels in architecting robust solutions and solving complex challenges.<br/><br/>In his current role, Nirmal spearheads research and development efforts for WSO2 solutions, with a strong focus on the banking, financial, and healthcare industries. His work drives the creation of industry-specific accelerators and enhances WSO2’s capabilities in these critical sectors.<br/><br/>A problem-solver at heart, Nirmal has represented WSO2 at numerous conferences, customer engagements, and industry discussions, consistently delivering impactful solutions that empower developers and strengthen WSO2’s presence across key industry verticals.

Mifan is a senior leader heading the Solution Architecture function, the team that handles customer technical interactions and technical selling at WSO2. Mifan also works on the solutions side of WSO2 products. He works with many large customers to define their strategic roadmap and assist with architecture strategy. Before joining WSO2, Mifan has played multiple technology leadership and advocacy roles, including as co-founder and CTO of a technology startup, and as consultant spatial and technology architect for many government and private initiatives. He was also a founding member and board director of the Sahana Software Foundation, a global foundation that created the Open Source Sahana Disaster Management System. Mifan is a frequent speaker at events globally, dabbles in music, and is a fan of the Arsenal football club.

Shafreen, with over a decade of experience in core Java, software architecture, and agile project management, has excelled in leading the standard library team for Ballerina, a language for cloud native applications. As the lead developer of Ballerina's HTTP transport, he created a robust, scalable library supporting key internet protocols. At WSO2, he contributed to the renowned ESB product, the fastest open source ESB in the world. Shafreen also led a team of 70 engineers as an engineering manager, fostering a culture of excellence. His commitment extends to the open source community as an Apache committer and PMC member, demonstrating his leadership and expertise in technology.

Shazni is the lead of solution architecture for integration at WSO2. In this role, he collaborates closely with WSO2 regional solutions architects, customers and partners to formulate integration solutions aimed at facilitating digital transformation. Shazni architects solutions tailored to evolving customer requirements as a trusted advisor to optimize the utilization of the WSO2 platform. With over fourteen years of experience spanning product engineering, professional services delivery, and pre-sales, Shazni is a seasoned technical advocate who contributes to the strategic development of products, aligning them with market demands. His interest areas are, performant integrations and development of cloud-native applications.

Isuru, an expert in enterprise integration, currently playing the role of Product Manager of WSO2 Integrator product. His journey began as an intern at WSO2 in 2010, progressing to his current role as director of engineering after 12 years of dedication. Throughout his tenure, he has provided technical guidance to integration software teams and spearheaded various customer initiatives like Quick Start programs and Architecture Reviews. Additionally, Isuru actively contributes as a Committer and serves as the vice president of the Apache Synapse open source ESB project.

Shankar has over two decades of experience in the technology industry, with expertise in telecommunication billing systems, web services, cloud deployments, integration, and security. His tenure at WSO2 has included roles in product development, solution architecture, and head of engineering, where he collaborated with numerous global clients on their digital transformation initiatives. Currently, as the head of WSO2's Integration Business Unit, Shankar is responsible for the strategy and overall management of the Integration business.
