What types of training does WSO2 offer?
WSO2 offers both self-paced and instructor-led training. Self-paced courses are available through our Learning Management System (LMS). Instructor-led training can be customized for your specific needs and delivered onsite or online. For more information visit here.
How much does training cost?
- Self-paced training: Free.
- Instructor-led training: Pricing varies. Contact your WSO2 Account Manager for more information.
How do I access WSO2 training courses?
Log in to the LMS using your WSO2.com credentials. If you don't have an account, you can create one here. You can find more details on our training guidelines page.
Who can access Sales Enablement courses and certifications?

Certification FAQs
Who can take a certification exam?
Anyone with good working knowledge of a WSO2 product can attempt certification. Prior training or hands-on experience is recommended.
What types of certifications does WSO2 offer?
WSO2 offers multiple certification types across different products and expertise levels. You can find detailed information about the available certifications here.
I have registered for the exam, what happens next?
The exam will be activated within 2-3 working days. Instructions will be emailed to you upon activation. You must go through the examination guidelines before you start any certification exam.
Are exams proctored?
Yes. Exams are taken online and remotely proctored. You must:
- Be in a quiet, distraction-free room.
- Show a 360° view of your environment before starting.
- Use a webcam (focused on you throughout).
- Record your screen and webcam using an approved tool.
- Use only one screen (multiple monitors are not allowed).
Can I use online resources during the exam?
The exam is partially open-book. You may use WSO2 documentation, the Learning Management System (LMS), pages from wso2.com, and pages linked through these sources during the exam, provided they comply with our examination guidelines.
Can I use AI tools or search engines during the exam?
No, the use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Gemini), search engines (e.g., Google), or any external resources which are not explicitly approved is strictly prohibited. You may use a translator tool if required.
How many attempts do I get?
Each exam level allows two attempts within 30 days of activation. If unsuccessful after two attempts, you must wait one month before re-registering.
How many times can I register for an exam?
You may register for the same exam twice. After that, a one-month preparation period is required before registering again.
What is the passing score?
- Developer, Expert, Architect certifications – 70%
- Sales certifications – 80%
How long is my certification valid?
- Product certifications – Valid for the specific product version and do not expire.
- Solutions Architect – 2 years
- Sales – 1 year
- Choreo – 1 year
What happens after my certification expires or when a newer version is released before it expires?
You can attempt the latest available version of the certification at any time. If you pass a newer version before your current certification expires, the older one will be deactivated, and only the new certification will remain active. This rule applies to all certifications with expiration dates.
Example: If you complete the Solutions Architect Associate 2023 (SAA 2023) in 2024, it will remain valid until 2026. However, if a newer version is released in 2025, you may choose to attempt the SAA 2025. If you pass, the SAA 2023 certification will be deactivated, and the SAA 2025 will be valid for the next 2 years.
Are certifications tied to a specific version?
Certifications are valid for all minor versions within a major release. Example: WSO2 Certified API Manager 4 covers all 4.x versions.
How can I reschedule my certification exam?
You can request an extension through the certification portal. This option becomes available 2–3 days before your certification is set to expire. All exams can be extended for up to 14 days, except for Expert exams, which can be extended for up to 3 days.
How do I qualify for the Solutions Architect Associate certification?
You must complete at least two Developer-level certifications in different products, each on the latest version, before registering for this certification.
How do I qualify for Expert certification?
You must complete the respective Developer certification before registering for the Expert certification.
What do the Expert Practical exams include?
You must complete two Practical exams to obtain this certification. Expert exams require completing use-case–based practical tasks within a set timeframe. Use cases are drawn from the prerequisites outlined on the certification page.
How long will my exam recordings be retained?
Candidates are required to provide WSO2 with access to recordings for non-expert exams for up to 7 days, and for expert exams until the certification is completed. WSO2 thoroughly reviews exam recordings to ensure fairness and maintain high standards of exam integrity.
Can I share examination material?
No, you are not allowed to copy, share, or modify exam content in any form. Doing so violates WSO2’s copyright and may result in failing the exam and being barred from future certifications.
Can I verify my or someone else’s certification?
Yes, certifications can be verified at certification.wso2.com.
