Training and Certification – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the online WSO2 Training Portal (https://lms.wso2.com) and WSO2 Certification Portal (https://certification.wso2.com/) (together referred as "Portals"). These training and certifications are provided by WSO2 LLC ("Company,"”WSO2”, "we," "us," or "our") in relation to the WSO2 software. By accessing or using the Portals, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Training and Certification Programs

  • The Portals provide access to WSO2 Training Programs and WSO2 Certification Programs.
  • Users may choose training or certification programs depending on the availability programs based on the users’ learning or certification needs.
  • Each program may have specific requirements, and participation is subject to compliance with these Terms.

3. Automatic Agreement to Terms

  • By logging into the Portals, you automatically agree to be bound by these Terms.
  • If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must refrain from using the Portals.

4. Collection and Use of Information for the Training programs.

i. Automatically collected:

We automatically collect certain information from you when you use the Portals, including internet or other network activity information such as your IP address, unique device identifiers, and cookies as stated in section 2 of the WSO2 Privacy Policy.

In addition to the information stated above, we also collect data with regards to the training that you have enrolled in, such as the names of the programs, enrolled date, date of completion, the progress in the program.

ii. Information from other sources.

You will sign into the WSO2 Training Portal through your wso2.com account. If you do not have a wso2.com account, then you will be required to register in wso2.com and create an account prior to accessing the WSO2 Training Portal. During the sign in process to the WSO2 Training Portal, we will be collecting certain information associated with your account, including but not limited to:

  • First and last names

  • Email address


iii. Why do we collect the information?

  • To deliver the training program registered for by you.
  • To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs by sending you targeted information, which may be more relevant to you).

5. Collection and Use of information for Certification Programs

i. Automatically collected:

We automatically collect certain information from you when you use the Services, including internet or other network activity information such as your IP address, unique device identifiers, and cookies as stated in section 2 of WSO2 Privacy Policy.

In addition to the information stated above, we also collect data with regards to the certification that you have enrolled in, such as the names of the programs, enrolled date, date of completion, the progress in the program.

ii. Information provided by you:


Depending on the certification type the following information will be collected:


a. Certification programs

When participating in a Certification Program, we may collect additional information via a form, including but not limited to:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • Company

  • Job Title

  • Country

  • State


b. WSO2 Certified Professional/Employee of the Year(WCPY/WCEY) and WSO2 Quarterly Awards

When participating in the above programs, we will collect the following information:

  • 1. Full Name

  • 2. Email

  • 3. WSO2 Certification ID

  • 4. Region of occupation

  • 5. Job Title

  • 6. Company

  • 7. Photograph and bio - This is to publish on the WSO2 website.
  • 8. T-shirt sizes and the postal addresses of the winners will be collected for the purposes of creating the awards and distribution of it.
  • 9. Any other information as stated in the https://wso2.com/training/certification/examination-guidelines/.

c. Leaderboard

If you opt-in, your name and certification details (certification points) will be displayed on the leaderboard of the certification portal.

d. Awarded Certificate


The awarded certificate will contain the certification name and your certification ID.


iii. Why do we collect the information?


  • This information is necessary to validate the certification status and maintain records.

  • To evaluate your submission for the awards.

  • To ensure compliance with the certification guidelines.

6. Corporate Account Linking & Administrator Access

  • Based on the information provided, users who have enrolled in the Certification Portal may be linked to their employer’s account in our database if their employer has a registered account with us.
  • Administrators of those employer accounts may have access to view user certification data for internal tracking and reporting purposes.

7. Retention

  • Training
    The information in the Training Portal, as described in section 4 above, will be retained for five years from the last login date, unless you request its deletion sooner.
  • Certification
    Data submitted by the user for the certification program will remain with WSO2 until the purpose for which it was collected is achieved, unless the user requests WSO2 to delete the data.

8. General Terms for Training and Certification

Guidelines for training and certifications when enrolling for a training or certification are as follows:

9. Privacy & Data Security

As detailed in the WSO2 Privacy Policy.

10. Who Is Your Information Shared with?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share your information with unrelated outside parties. However, we may share your information with our service provider, subsidiaries and for legal and compliance reasons as detailed in the section “Who is your Information Shared with?” in the WSO2 Privacy Policy.

In addition, we may share some of your personal data with our logistic partners when creating awards and the distribution of the awards.

11. Termination

i. Certification expiry.

The expiry terms for each certification are specified on the respective certification registration pages. It is the responsibility of the candidate to review and be aware of these terms prior to enrollment.

ii. Revocation of certificates.

In cases of academic dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating or failure to adhere to the certification guidelines set forth in Section 8 above, WSO2 reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to adjust certification results, revoke certifications, or permanently disqualify the candidate from current or future participation in any certification programs.

iii. Expiry of training courses.

Training courses must be completed within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of enrollment. If a candidate does not complete the course within this period, access will expire. However, the candidate may re-enroll in the same course and resume progress from the last completed section, subject to the availability of the course and applicable re-enrollment policies.

12. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Portal after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Warranty

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THE AGREEMENT, WSO2 MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, UNDER THIS AGREEMENT; ALL SERVICES, SOFTWARE, AND SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED BY WSO2 "AS IS."

14. Liability

IN NO EVENT WILL EITHER PARTY OR ITS RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL COSTS OR DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DOWNTIME COSTS; LOST BUSINESS, REVENUES, GOODWILL, OR PROFITS; FAILURE TO REALIZE EXPECTED SAVINGS; LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO DATA; OR SOFTWARE RESTORATION, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ANY OF THE FOREGOING ARE FORESEEABLE, AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER EITHER PARTY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY OF THE FOREGOING. THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE BASIS OF LIABILITY; INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE; MISREPRESENTATION; BREACH; LIBEL; INFRINGEMENT OF PUBLICITY, PRIVACY, OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS; OR ANY OTHER CONTRACT OR TORT CLAIM.

15. Refunds

In certain instances, as determined by WSO2, You may be entitled to a refund of fees paid for training or certification programs. Any such refunds will be subject to a deduction of a processing/ administrative fee, the amount of which will be notified to You by WSO2. In the event of such refunds we will require your bank information to process the refund.

16. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of California excluding its conflicts of laws principles. In the event of a dispute between the parties hereto, arising out of or in connection with or with respect to this Agreement or any breach thereof, such dispute shall be determined and settled by arbitration in Santa Clara, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”). The award rendered by the arbitrator shall be final and binding on the parties thereto, and judgment may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in the above provision shall prevent either party from applying to a court of competent jurisdiction for equitable or injunctive relief.

17. General

  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms are held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be contrary to law, such provision shall be changed and interpreted so as to best accomplish the objectives of the original provision to the fullest extent allowed by law and the remaining provisions of this Term shall remain in full force and effect.
  • Force Majeure. Neither party will be liable for performance delays or for non-performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”); however, this provision will not apply to Subscriber's payment obligations accrued as of the commencement of the Force Majeure Event, as determined by WSO2.
  • Headings. The headings in these Terms are inserted for convenience only and do not affect its interpretation.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms, whether by operation of law, merger or reorganization or otherwise, without the prior written consent of WSO2; any attempted assignment in violation of the foregoing will be void. WSO2 may assign its rights and delegate its duties under these Terms without your written consent in connection with a reorganization, reincorporation, merger, or sale of all, or substantially all of the shares or assets of WSO2 or the business of WSO2 to which these Terms relate.
  • Export Compliance; Sanctions. The training programs and certifications may be subject to export laws and regulations of the United States and other jurisdictions. The parties represent that each of them is not named on any U.S. Government denied-party list. You will not use the training programs and certifications in violation of any export law, sanction law or regulation of the United States and other jurisdictions.
  • Complete Agreement. These Terms, and any terms, policies, or writings referenced within it, constitutes the final and complete agreement between the parties with respect to the training programs and certifications, and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous representations or agreements, whether written or oral.
  • Modification; Waiver. No amendment of this Agreement will be effective unless it is in writing and signed by the parties. No waiver under these Terms will be effective unless it is in writing and signed by the party granting the waiver. A waiver granted on one occasion will not operate as a waiver on other occasions.
  • Notices. Notice may be directed to WSO2 at [email protected]. Notice may be directed to You at the e-mail address You provided at the time of registration.
