I’m proud to share that WSO2 has been recognized in two new Gartner reports for full life cycle API management. We are sincerely grateful to our many satisfied customers for providing their feedback on how WSO2 has been instrumental in driving their digital transformation initiatives. We appreciate the time they took out of their busy schedules to help us out. 

Now, on to the details. 

Today, we stand on the cusp of an inflection point in WSO2’s journey. I am thrilled to announce that we have secured $90 million in financing from Goldman Sachs. This new investment means our original vision continues to have an enduring purpose, and we could not be more excited to be backed by such a strong institution.

WSO2 certification gives you a chance to prove your knowledge of WSO2 Products. WSO2 Training and Certification has been running the Developer and Expert certifications for the past 5 years and we have over 2000 Developer and 83 Expert certified professionals. This year we introduced the Practitioner certification which is a stepping stone for developers interested in beginning their certification journey with WSO2.

WSO2 API Manager (APIM) has won the Best in API Middleware award at the 2021 API Awards, held at API World 2021. 

API World is a great API and microservices event, and this award means a lot to us. I’d like to thank API World for this award. API World is a great conference.

If you are familiar with SAML and OAuth, you may have discovered it to be an incomparable battle. Yes, while both SAML and OAuth deal with Identity and Access Management (IAM), their emphasis is different. In this post, I will share some background information about these protocols to better understand their motivations, how they evolved, how they are related to one another, and what future directions I see.

Assume you have a social media account where you have saved both private and public information. You have an app called "Who are my closest friends?" that you can't wait to try out. This app requires access to your social media's protected information, such as your friend list and possibly your email. To grant access to your friend list, you must provide the application with your social media login credentials. You have now granted full access to your social media account to an application that you are unfamiliar with. The application can now act like you, posting and reading messages.
