Highlights from WSO2's 2024 global user conference.
The energy from WSO2Con 2024 is still electric. Over 350 attendees from around the world joined us at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, for three days of learning, inspiration, and connection.
This year's theme, "platformless," took center stage. We explored how it empowers businesses to streamline development and focus on user-centric applications. This message resonated throughout WSO2 speaker sessions and our new product announcements. You can access the recordings and presentation slides from the agenda page.
Learning and Growing Together
The conference kicked off with interactive tutorials for both developers and architects. These sessions combined theory with hands-on exercises that brought concepts to life.
Day one offered keynotes that set the tone for deep dives into specific tracks. Attendees could choose from API management, integration, identity and access management, or building cloud native applications with an internal developer platform.
Day two brought practical knowledge with user stories, technical strategies, and solutions architecture sessions. The conference wrapped up with keynotes that peered into the future of technology.

Product Announcements: Advancing Developer Productivity

At WSO2Con, we announced exciting new product updates designed to streamline developer workflows and boost productivity.
- A single, unified control plane manages both WSO2 API Manager and WSO2 APK data planes, bringing powerful API management to Kubernetes environments.
- New AI based WSO2 AI Developer Assistant in the WSO2 API Manager control plane enhances search in the Developer Portal and adds natural language API testing. Developers can describe what they’re trying to achieve in plain English, and the AI assistant will suggest the most relevant APIs. It can also generate test samples, recommend efficient testing paths, and point to the most helpful resources for a specific scenario.
- GraphQL support in WSO2 APK delivers precise data access capabilities to APK APIs to enable more efficient data retrieval.
- New WSO2 Micro Integrator extension for Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code) offers an intuitive graphical interface with an AI MI Copilot to simplify developing integrations with natural language prompts. The extension is available as a developer preview.
- Choreo Copilot (preview) enables users to grasp Choreo concepts, teaches how to perform tasks using the platform, and provides guidance to overcome obstacles.
- WSO2 Identity Server 7.0 introduces a new authentication API, visual editor with side-by-side graphical and code views, and one-click templates and authentication methods; adds comprehensive B2B CIAM and financial-grade API security.
- New AI based Asgardeo capabilities simplify creating a branded experience for your customers based on your website. Login Flow AI allows you to use natural language to describe your desired authentication flow for applications, including authenticators and conditional authentication.
