After the bank decided on a PaaS/SaaS strategy where the bank required integration of client-facing apps/portals to cores, the bank moved to acquire a next-generation service bus as WSO2. The incorporation of solutions like WSO2 Identity Server, WSO2 Micro Integrator, and WSO2 API Manager helped the bank grow in 4 years from 200k to 850k credit cards by which INVEX (being a branchless bank) became the 6th issuer in the Mexican market. The WSO2 solutions utilized in this process are as follows:

• WSO2 Identity Server – This provided simplicity and security to house the client’s credentials.
• WSO2 Micro Integrator/EI - The wrapped APIs developed to integrate with the cores were easily orchestrated through the micro integrator. For more complex integrations the task was accomplished using the Enterprise Integrator.
• WSO2 API Manager - The APIs are brokered using WSO2 API Manager.

The Vitality program, built on a cloud native platform, has been deployed across 5 instances, serving 27 countries. The event-driven architecture leverages WSO2 API manager, WSO2 Identity Server, and WSO2 Micro Integrator to provide a robust and agile global platform. The comprehensive capabilities provided by WSO2 seamlessly connects our members and partners around the world to provide real-time and personalized digital experiences. These capabilities enable rapid innovation, seamlessly allowing the Vitality wellness features to be consumed by several partner platforms. Open source was all the rage back in the 2000s, and organizations from startups to governments and software industry giants now have inextricable dependencies on it. Open source's ubiquity and reliability have made it a bit boring. But recently, new challenges are emerging regarding open source. Constant security vigilance, in particular, is seemingly at odds with a bottom-up development model that doesn't fund itself and frequently relies on volunteers. Bad actors have begun exploiting this (the #XZ problem), governments are recognizing it and attempting solutions (the CRA problem), and commercial funding sources seem to be diminishing (the VC problem). Despite these challenges, WSO2 maintains its commitment to open source and has developed a sustainable business model around it. The talk will conclude with some speculation about a brighter future for open source.

CSI Piemonte has been delivering digital services to the Public Administration since 1977 and today is the chosen technology partner for over 120 Public Administration entities in Italy. CSI promotes Digital transformation and Interoperability supported by the WSO2 API Manager and Identity server. The Digital Services ecosystem has a centralized catalogue dedicated to the publication, subscription, and delivery of PA digital services. The WSO2 identity Server component is integrated with the regional and Italian PA’s IDP and manages the access to the API catalogue for the private and public administration's users. WSO2 API manager enables the creation of a modern, reliable, scalable API ecosystem that offers also integration with open-source analysis tools for platform monitoring and auditing. We are focusing on the PDND project (National Digital Data Platform) which enables the interoperability of information systems among public administrations, citizens and businesses, in accordance to the European principle of once-only (EIF).

TOTSCo is an organization dedicated to the development and operation of a messaging platform known as The TOTSCo Hub, aimed at enabling One Touch Switch (OTS) for residential fixed voice and broadband customers. At the core of the OTS concept lies the utilization of a centralized Hub, which serves as a comprehensive message-handling solution. This Hub acts as a singular point of interaction for all Retail Communication Providers (Retail CPs), facilitating seamless transitions for consumers between different service providers. The Retail CPs, representing entities with whom consumers have contractual agreements for services, engage with the Hub in both "gaining" and "losing" roles, streamlining the switching process. The Hub's infrastructure is constructed utilizing WSO2 API Manager and WSO2 Micro Integrator. The API Manager component offers robust API Lifecycle Management capabilities, ensuring efficient management and governance of interfaces. Meanwhile, the Micro Integrator component provides advanced Message Routing functionalities, orchestrating the flow of data and communication within the platform.
